A responsible breeder: SHOULD: know when the bitch is due to come in season NEVER leave your bitch unattended around an intact male NEVER leave her alone outside if not in a secure kennel never take her for a walk off leash and be sure to have control of her if you do go for a walk. It might be best to just stay home for a couple of weeks. x-rays at 53 to 55 days are a good idea for small breeds, however x-rays can be done with any breed have your whelping kit and area ready 2 wks before her due date have handy the closest emergency Vet's name, #, address & directions. |
